Keeping Surfaces the Way the Architect, Builder and Owner Envisioned

DFI is a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Diamon-Fusion® easy-to-clean protective coating can contribute to LEED points, find out how here.

Architects spend valuable time determining what kind of glass they and their customers need to produce the desired effect. But what happens when that glass gets dirty? Does that dirty glass still satisfy those needs?

Drive through any commercial area and you’ll see “dirty” glass. Most often you see drip marks or obvious areas on the windows where water had run across the glass, such as hard water stains caused by sprinklers. These are noticeable because the rainwater often picks up minerals or other contaminants from the surfaces surrounding the windows – the concrete of the building, the silicone in the window mounting, the pollution in the air, and many other sources – and deposits them on the glass marring the look and destroying the desired effect.

Diamon-Fusion International is the first hydrophobic protective coating company to have its products specifically reviewed for compliance in association with USGBC's LEED rating system to confirm how they can contribute in the following categories: Sustainable Sites, Energy and Atmosphere, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Materials and Resources.

“The DFI team did a wonderful job presenting Diamon-Fusion® to our staff during the Protecting Architectural Glazing with Hydrophobic Coatings lunch n’ learn. They were informative, hospitable, engaging, and very helpful assisting with our questions. I would highly recommend learning more about Diamon-Fusion®—it seems to be a very viable solution for keeping glass protected, clean and clear.”

– Nataline Lomedico, CEO, Giroux Glass

“Excellent seminar! I have sat through too many of these that miss the mark. Yours sets the standard.”

Maintains the Beauty of the Design

More and more architects are specifying DFI coatings for their windows and other glass, granite, tile, porcelain and quartz surfaces. DFI coatings keeps surfaces the way the architect, builder and customer envisioned them for longer and requires less labor to keep them that way.

DFI coatings achieve this by making silica-based surfaces, such as glass, harder to stain and easier to clean when they do get stained.

DFI coatings can be applied at the factory, on-site or even after those surfaces have been installed. DFI’s licensees treat thousands of square feet of already installed surfaces every day.

Protects the Environment

Because DFI treated surfaces resist staining, they don’t need to be cleaned as often to maintain the beauty of the surface. A reduction in the cleaning required means less water needs to be used for that purpose. Conserving that water helps protect the environment and saves the building owner money today and into the future. In addition, because DFI coatings are “easy-to-clean”, significantly less of the cleaning solutions typically used run into our streams, lakes and oceans.
